Blackbeard

Here's just a few pictures I took backstage of Blackbeard the last day of performances. I had such a wonderful time and I learned a lot, and made some great friends! I never knew how hard it might be to be on a production team and all that is involved, but I am so glad I did it! Doing blackbeard's makeup was a trip! I took a blond haired white boy and turned him into someone else completely! It was wild!! When we were waiting backstage we would get so bored so we would do some crazy stuff! Dancing all professional-like, Jere would get hot so we would strip down and wrap his robe around himself so he could walk around, or we would jump off the top of the set on to the high jump mat! I'll never do that again (I'm sick of getting injured doing stupid stuff!) Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

Pictures

So, I've been promising pictures, so I hope this will work. Let me give you a little background of these. This summer I was in a little musical called "The Music Man" at Hale Centre Theatre. It was fun, and I got to work with some great people, and it was very very HOT!!!! Dead middle of the summer, in the backstage area, was not fun to be in cause of all the people moving around, dancing under hot lights, it was just bad. Anyway, during act 2, the girls in my dressing room and I were in the first scene, and the last scene--it was wonderful because we were able to go into our dressing room and have what we liked to call "NAKED TIME". We just sat on our chairs in our underwear and turned the fan on high and just tried to cool off. Everyone would make fun of us (they were all just jealous), and so we decided to take pictures making fun of ourselves in the style of the movie Calendar Girls (I think that is what it is called--you know the movie about the old ladies making a calendar in the nude, but covering themselved discreetly with flower pots and cooking stuff and all that--it was a good movie) So here you go!!!

WOW!! Aunt Sabe it sounds like your BUSY!! man i really want to see black beard i really liked it last year! i know the hair and make-up will be amazing no doubt about that!!!

Well high school is CRAZY_FUN! its full of lots of homework, and stress but the football games all the activites and just all the people you meet is so much FUN! i love high school and i am glad that i am a TORO haha! =) no offence! haha

Elder Brock is doing good just busy busy busy but loving his mission and only has like 4 months left can you believe it???? i cant wait for him to get home! just think in 9 months i can date!!! haha and drive!! haha

Belinda(mom) is doing good busier than ever and sleep maybe 3 hrs she is crazy i dont know what to do haha!! but i just try to help her the best i can! haha i hope we continue to stay in touch guys!! haah this is fun! love ya tons

Will it ever end?

So, Saturday night, Music Man finally closed!!! YAY!!!!!! I can't even begin to express how happy I am to not ever have to sing "Pick a little, talk a little; pick a little, talk a little; cheep cheep cheep! talk a lot, pick a little more", ever again! Oh my gosh!! It was a fun run, i guess, LONG, but there were fun moments. I honestly felt like it would never end, hahaha! I'll have to post come pictures when I get them (everyone else was snapping, so I only got a few). Now on to Blackbeard!
Blackbeard opens on Friday, and I can't even go into the stress that is involved in this one. I am doing all the hair and makeup for everyone. All I can say at this point is this: if I never have to restyle another wig in my life, it will be too soon! I don't like styling a wig after it has been used and washed. Let's just say, it's not as easy to style as a brand new fresh wig. ew.

So sad...

Tonight when I got home from my show, I walked straight into the laundry room to put my body suit and "stuff" in the washer so I can have clean and good-smelling undergarments for the two shows I have. While waiting for my stuff to wash, I can't go to bed because I have to hang everything to dry. This is a good time for me to catch up on emails, check blogs and whatnot, etc. Anyway, I have bookmarked my favorite blogs that I try to keep up on regularly so I won't have to go to too much effort to find them. A couple months ago, I was "introduced" to Randy Pausch through Oprah and 60 minutes. I have fallen in love with his outlook on life and his inspiring story! So much, in fact, that I bought his audiobook "The Last Lecture"

Randy was a professor at Carnegie Melon University and forerunner in the field of computer science, more particularly virtual reality. In 2006, he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and given, at best, 6 months of good health left. In 2007, he was asked to give his last lecture at the university. I have watched it on YouTube, and just let my jaw drop with his enthusiasm, zeal, and sincerity.

After watching this, I found his blog and would check it periodically to see how he was doing and to see how his family was holding up. I just checked his blog, and read the very sad words. Randy lost his battle with cancer, and passed away on July 25, just a few days ago. It made my heart sink to the bottom of my stomach. It is very sad..

Here is his "Last Lecture" for you all to watch. It is kinda long, but I encourage you all to take the time to listen to what he has to say. When I was listening, (it took me about a week to get through the whole thing, btw), for some reason, my days went much better, and I noticed my attitude was much happier and cheerful. He just has an amazing perspective on life, and I hope I can take what he says and apply it every day.
